Learning is one of our core values at Zion. The Bible praises knowledge, wisdom, and understanding as spiritual gifts worth pursuing. Zion has a long history of formal educational ministry, including our preschool Evergreen Academy. We also prioritize reading and studying God’s Word together and as individuals, so that we can learn and grow in our faith.
5:30 pm – Dinner & Fellowship (Soup & Salad provided)

Join us as we read "Five Loaves, Two Fish, Twelve Volunteers: Growing a Relational Food Ministry" by Elizabeth Mae Magill. According to Amazon, "Sixty-two percent of food pantries and meal programs in the United States are faith-based. Most of these ministries are transactional; people needing food interact with church volunteers to earn access to direct service. Elizabeth Magill advocates relational ministry as a better model for food ministry. People donating food or money eat with the people who need food and get to know them as they serve alongside them. Those needing food share all aspects of the ministry, including planning, setting up, leading, serving, and cleaning. As volunteers become better acquainted with those they serve, they can form deep, meaningful relationships, creating a new way to be the church."
We know this will be an important read as we prepare to open Nina's Place in January. Please join us for the discussion. Reading the book is absolutely optional!

There is no place like Zion's church sanctuary for a Christmas Eve candlelight service! Join us as we gather to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in a humble, simple manger. We will have special music from our talented singers and bell ringers, too!
